This piece of apparatus visually demonstrates wave motion using a Digital Wave Generator (audio signal generator with digital readout of frequency) to generate frequencies between 10Hz and 300Hz per second. Nodes and antinodes are visually generated on a nylon thread at full or half wavelength accentuated by the black scale behind. The wavelength can be changed by altering the frequency of the generator and tension on the thread by changing weights (supplied) at it’s open end. Powered by 230-volts mains voltage.
