A mains operated thermoelectric apparatus that determines the melting point of a substance up to 300°C.
Comprises of an aluminium block which accepts up to three samples in 100 x 2 mm bore capillary tubes.
A built-in lamp provides uniform and shadowless illumination of the sample tube which can be viewed through a fixed magnifier against either a dark or bright background altered by rotating a knob at the rear of the apparatus.
The block is heated by two elements; the temperature being accurately regulated by adjusting a built-in rotary rheostat as the melting point is approached.
Has two heating elements which are kept on to ensure uniform heating on both sides of the block.
Fitted in an enameled metal case size dimensions: 220 x 130 x 300 mm.
- Additional items required – Capillary tubes (refer to MURG11931) and thermometer (refer to BN1424 Thermometer -10 to 110 degC, 300ml).
