LED WORK LIGHT [L.E.D]: Handheld illumination
$ 6.87 excl. GST
• This LED Work Light is an ultra light and compact, with a handle belt / pocket clip.
• It has a small magnet on the back to quickly grab on to any ferrous metal for hands-free operation.
• LED lighting is quite different from incandescent and compact fluorescent light (CFL) lighting.
• Key distinctions include: LEDs are the size of a peppercorn and may generate light in an assortment of colors.
• Red, green, and blue LEDs are sometimes combined to create white light.
• Battery: AAA x3 (not Included).
LED Light versus Other Types.
– LEDs emit light in a particular direction, eliminating the need for light-trapping reflectors and diffusers.
– This characteristic makes LEDs more efficient for numerous applications, including recessed downlights and task lighting.
– With other types of lighting, the light must be reflected in the correct direction, and up to fifty percent of the light may never exit the fixture.
– LEDs produce very little heat. In comparison, incandescent lights emit 90 percent of their energy as heat, and CFLs emit approximately 80 percent of their energy as heat.
– LED lighting devices often have a substantially longer lifespan than other types of lighting.
– A high-quality LED bulb can last three to five times as long as a CFL and thirty times as long as an incandescent light.

(Wikipedia excerpt: ..."....A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits light when current flows through it. Electrons in the semiconductor recombine with electron holes, releasing energy in the form of photons. The color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photons) is determined by the energy required for electrons to cross the band gap of the semiconductor.[5] White light is obtained by using multiple semiconductors or a layer of light-emitting phosphor on the semiconductor device.[6]
Appearing as practical electronic components in 1962, the earliest LEDs emitted low-intensity infrared (IR) light.[7] Infrared LEDs are used in remote-control circuits, such as those used with a wide variety of consumer electronics. The first visible-light LEDs were of low intensity and limited to red.....")
