Iron II Sulfide / Non DG

Iron II sulfide, often known as iron sulfide or ferrous sulfide, is an inorganic, insoluble in water compound with the formula FeS. According to IUPAC nomenclature, it is known as sulfanylideneiron. It occurs as the minerals troilite and pyrrhotite in nature. The structure of FeS is that of nickel arsenide, with trigonal prismatic sulfides and octahedral iron centers.
