Comprises a 150 x 150 x 5mm transparent acrylic base with four rubber feet fitted to insulate it from the surface it is sitting on. When the acrylic base is rubbed with fur, or other suitable charging material, it produces a strong charge which can be repeatedly transferred to a 90mm dia. aluminium plate fitted with an insulated handle. The aluminium plate can then be used to transfer a charge to other apparatus.
