ASCORBIC ACID [Vitamin C]

This is a naturally occurring, water-soluble vitamin. The synthesis of collagen in fibrous tissue, teeth, bones, connective tissue, skin, and capillaries depends on ascorbic acid, a potent reducing and antioxidant agent that also helps combat bacterial infections.
Citrus and other fruits, as well as vegetables, contain vitamin C, which cannot be made or stored by humans and must be consumed through diet.
